GEORGE ENGLAND

George Raymond England, 70, of Mattoon, brother of Don England of Sullivan, died at 7:25 a.m. Saturday in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home in Mattoon with visitation from 6 to 8 tonight (Monday). Burial will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon.

Born in Coles County, he was a son of Tipton and Stella England. He was a retired civil service employee from Chanute Air Force Base and a member of the Broadway Christian Church and the Friendly Bible Class. He married Velma Smith, and she died in 1945. He married Sue Shull Storm in 1951, and she survives.

In addition to his wife and brother, he is survived by a son, George R. of Dary; daughters, Mrs. Don (Shirley) Windorff of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. David (Linda) Kronick of Des Moines, Iowa and Peggy Carlyle of Mattoon; stepsons, James and Ron Shull, both of Bakersfield, Cal., and Denny Shull of Mattoon; stepdaughter, Mrs. Bud (Terry) Weaver of Mattoon; sisters, Mrs. Don (Margie) Thompson of Coles Station and Mrs. Raymond (Berdina) Smith of Urbana; and 18 grandchildren.

One daughter, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
