He lived life to the fullest, enjoying time with his family, friends, and the love of his life, his son, David Mack. David was a 'jack of all trades' and mastered them all only to follow his passion for wood and becoming a self-employed contractor. He was a well-loved and fun-loving character who brought an abundance of joy to everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Branch; a sister, Sarah; and a brother, Daniel.
He is survived by his son, David Mack Branch; his mother, Juanita Johnson; and nine sisters and brothers, Linda Icenhour, Donald Branch, Laura Horsely, Lisa Vinson, Dallas Branch, Loretta Maggard, Deborah Pratt and James Isaac McMillion. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2008, in the Williamsburg Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday August 10, 2009, at the Bucktrout of Williamsburg Funeral Home.

David's Mother Reminisces:

"David was born after his Daddy's death in January of 1972. He never seemed to get over it. He had ten other brothers and sisters, out of which two of them died also -- his younger sister Sarah passed at six months and older brother Daniel at the age of sixteen. Death always played a prominent role in our family. He married young and had a son, David Mack Branch ..He was so proud ...Soon after his wife divorced him and moved his son to Kentucky; and he really never got over that. He loved his son more than life itself. He talked to him every day but hardly ever got to visit or see him... He then took his own life with an overdose of pills. We miss him so and will never get over his loss..."
