Ernest England died in the Veterans hospital at Dwight, Wednesday, October 24 at 1:45 a.m.
He had been a patient in the hospital for five weeks, and had been in ill health since June 1.
He was born November 12, 1913, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, and came to this community with his parents in his youth.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Irene, and six children, Carroll, Marilyn, Betty, Judy, Donna and Gary, all at home, and the folliwng brothers and sisters; Mrs. Ed Langford of Ohio, Mrs. Owen McClure of Windsor, Mrs. Nell Gregory of Sullivan, Mrs. Ruby Moutray of Mattoon, Clarence England, Basil England of Mattoon, and Raymond of Decatur.
Mr. England served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was an employee of the Brown Shoe factory in this city for twenty-five years.
Funeral services will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 3:30 at the McMullin Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. R.A. Krell. Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery.
