Enlisted as 2nd Lieutenant November 2, 1861 with Company C. 31st Massachusetts Infantry Promoted to Full 2nd Lieutenant November 20, 1861 Promoted to Full 1st Lieutenant February 20, 1862 mustered out November 19, 1864.

Resident of Soldiers Home Dayton admitted November 8, 1884 age 54 at this time Occupation Music Teacher wife Elizabeth D. of Granville Ohio was next of kin he died there at the home of heart ailments.

Emory applied for Pension March 30, 1888 as invalid from the state of Ohio App# 647,684
his widow Elizabeth D. applied for his pension June 3, 1892 from the state of Ohio app# 551,777
