My Grandfather. So missed. More later. Son of William C. Stockham and Sarah Alice Evans.

WWI - served in France. We have found very little information on his serving in France and am looking for more information. We finally found a small photograph in my grandmother's photo box, and am very grateful. ♥ We searched for years for pictures of him from my Grandmother, but did not find many; and found none of him in uniform. They were very poor however, and likely did not take photos of him when he moved from Seattle to Buhl, Idaho. They lived on a farm in Buhl, Idaho next to the Snake River valley, which had a beautiful view of the Snake Valley area. Their farm was actually part of the Oregon Trail.

The family also used to find items in the farmland, when digging for crops while planting potatoes and corn. It was discovered these items were from the Oregon Trail travelers who were traveling on the Oregon Trail on the way to the Snake River. We discovered by the Oregon Trail association that our farm was part of the Oregon Trail, and wondered why the ruts were so large on one side of the farm. These land ruts were part of the Oregon Trail! The Oregon Trail Association laid out the pathways from one end of the farm to the other. This pathway was right where the ruts on the farm were, and where I walked as a young one along the trail.

I have a picture of the farm and will post with the Oregon Trail sign soon. Last time in 2012 when we visited the farm, the new owner had taken the Oregon Trail sign down...
