He enlisted in the Army on May 26, 1917, became a naturalized citizen on August 14, 1918 at El Paso, Texas, stating that; his place of residence was Co. A, 3rd Infantry, at Fort Bliss, Texas; he was 24 years of age, born on the 24th of December, 1894 at Nottingham, England; he came to the United States on March 10th, 1901 aboard the vessel Compania, which sailed from Liverpool, England to New York, New York; and was not married. His witness was Capt. Jesse P. Green and Lt. Percy McVernon, a soldier at Fort Bliss, Texas. He was released from military service on August 6th, 1919.
In 1920, Joseph Boldock, aged 24, a wood turner at a lumbermill, born in England, was living at 36 West Avenue, Patchogue, NY, with his mother, Rosa Boldock, aged 65, widowed, a by-the-day houseworker, born in Jamaica, West Indies. They had both come to the U.S. in 1900 and he had become a naturalized citizen 1918.
In 1925, Joseph Baldock, aged 34, was living on Roe Court, Patchogue, NY in the home of his widowed mother, Rose Baldock, aged 69. He was working as a wood worker at the lumber mill.
Obituary - Joseph Baldock, 83, of Patchogue, died Sunday at the Northport Veterans Association Hospital. He was born in Nottingham, England, and had been a resident of Patchogue for the past 80 years. He is survived by his widow, Eunice Baldock, of Patchogue, two nieces and two nephews. Services were held Wednesday afternoon at Ruland Funeral Home, the Rev. Philip Rohrbacher officiating. Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery, Patchogue.
