PORTSMOUTH - David Parker Walker Jr., 81, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Haven Health Center at Seacoast in Hampton.

Born Sept., 26, 1926, in Keene, he was the son of David and Ruth (Stearns) Walker.

He grew up in Townsend, Mass., and moved to Portsmouth in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.

Survivors include his sister, Beverly Goldberg Driscoll of Florida; sister-in-law Phyllis Walker of Townsend, Mass.; and nieces and nephews Brenda, William, Katherine, Debra, Doreen, Fern, Stanley, Kenneth, Wayne, Lorraine, Bruce and Christine.

Services: A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Hillside Cemetery in Townsend, Mass. Arrangements are by the Ferrell Funeral Home 684 State St., Portsmouth.

I was one of the nurses that cared for David in his final years. He was a real nice guy, always helpful and pleasant...taller than he looked though. I remember the first time I saw him at his full height...6' 2". Rest well David.
