Lucile was raised in Coos Bay, Oregon. After graduating from Marshfield High School, Class of 1945, she went to nursing school in Portland and became a Registered Nurse. While working in San Francisco she met her husband. After their marriage, she retired to raise their four sons. Their son, Rick, preceded her in death on Mar. 10, 1995. That broke her heart.
