STRUM Harold B. Aanerud, 66, died Sunday at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, of cancer. He was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, and was raised near Greenwood. He was a World War II veteran, and he married Lavina Knutson May 8, 1946, in Pigeon Falls. He owned garages in Eleva, Pigeon Falls and Independence, and be was a square dance caller and teacher in the area. Survivors include his wife; a son, Roy, Abilene, Texas; three daughters, Karolyn Ross; Agency, Iowa, Faye Helgeson, Candace Petersen, both of Eleva; a sister, Gladys Metzell, Woodville; and eight grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Strum, with burial in the Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Pigeon Falls. Military rites will be conducted by the Strum VFW Post.
