MOUNT PLEASANT - Dorothy Adams Smyre, 84, a retired secretary for C&S Bank, died Monday in a local nursing home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Stuhr's North Area Chapel. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Park in Charleston.
Mrs. Smyre was born in Heath Springs, a daughter of Andrew B. Adams and Addie Adams Adams. She attended Rice Business College and was a member of First Baptist Church of North Charleston.
Surviving are her husband, Luther H. Smyre; a daughter, Barbara McMahon of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Gladys Patrick of Hanahan and Lilly Mae Bell of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
