James Troy "T." Brown, 86, of the Kingsport Highway, Afton, died Sunday afternoon at his home.

Mr. Brown was a welder.

He was of the Baptist tradition of faith

Mr. Brown was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the American Welding Society, the American Legion, and Plumbing & Pipe Fitters Local No. 538.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Tim and Nancy Brown of Greene County; a daughter and son-in-law: Linda and L.A. Doty of Bulls Gap; his grandsons and a granddaughter-in-law: Joshua Jamison Brown of Greene County and James Duane and Lisa Waddell of Washington County; his great-grandchildren: Cortney Waddell and Ben Waddell; his great-great-grandson: Adien Waddell; a brother and sister-in-law: Leon and Ester Brown of Greene County; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a son of the late Ott Allen and Ena Wanda "Girl" Dunn Brown.
