Louise Pickrel, 93, McCook, died Saturday (May 1, 1993) at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

She was born Dec. 22, 1899, at Carleton, to Arthur James and Maude (Berkey) Swanson.

She moved to Frontier County in 1908, and was a 1917 graduate of Moorefield High School.

On Feb. 27, 1921, she married Henry V. Pickrel at Moorefield. Prior to moving to McCook in 1957, they lived in Benkelman, Red Cloud and Wauneta.

She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women; YMCA; Royal Neighbors; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Bernard Elbert Post No. 1652 Auxiliary, all of McCook.

Preceding her in death were her husband in January, 1966, and her parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Irene and husband Red Traphagan of McCook, and Izetta Hardwick of Benkelman; one brother, Donald J. Swanson and wife Lu of North Platte; two sisters, Elizabeth Reynolds of McCook, and Bernita and husband Robert Kull of Wapato, Wash.; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook, with the Rev. Douglas A. Delp officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
