'William Houston Stuart a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, died Friday at an area nursing facility, He was 97.

Stuart was a native of Hermitage, Arkansas and a resident of Axis, Mobile, Alabama.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Stuart Greer of Axis; one sister, Anna Lee Quimby of Lake Jackson, Texas; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Vernon Community Cemetery.

Arrangements are being made by Radney Funeral Home in Saraland.
