Entered into eternal rest July 12, 2008. He was born April 18, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the husband of Kathleen C. Raleigh, the beloved father of Mary Kathleen Thielen, Jack Raleigh, Kevin P. Raleigh, Rosemarie Offenhauer, Bridget Marie Raleigh and Peter J. Raleigh. He also has 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. John was a WWII Navy veteran, had a distinguished career in law enforcement and was given the nickname "Jolly Jack" by those who knew him. A favorite quote from St. Thomas Moore was "Times are never too tough that a good man cannot live a good live." He will be sorely missed by family and friends. A Rosary will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 7:00 pm at Mount St. Michael, 8500 N. St. Michael Road. A Requiem Mass will be held Wednesday, July 16, at 9:30 am at Mount St. Michael. In lieu of flowers or gifts, family wishes contributions be made towards the elevator fund at Mount St. Michael Parish, 8500 N. St. Michael's Road, Spokane WA 99217-9333. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all of the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
