Less than one month later, Glenis' mother passed away and was buried in the Hatfield or Meredith Cemetery.
Glenis' father, William, sent her to live with her grandparents, France Marion Hatfield and Mary Ellen Lancaster Hatfield. From records belonging to her family, Glenis was a very studious child and had a love for cats. Glenis lived with her grandparents until she was about 20 years old and then she moved to the Keifer, OK area to live with relatives.
While she was in Oklahoma, she met Joseph Olberg, a naturalized citizen originally from Russia. They married in 1927 and are listed in the City Directory of Oklahoma City in 1928. Their first and only daughter, Sophia Corrina Olberg (Shroll) was born on November 8, 1928.
Shortly after this, the family moved to New Llano, LA, the site of a socialist commune/colony where members merged their resources and talents to have a successful community. The community depended on each member helping support the whole. The community operated from 1917 to 1939.
At some point when Sophia was young, Glenis left Joseph and went to live in the nearby town of Leesville. Shortly after, she took Sophia to live with her.
Glenis later married Richard B. Graham and lived in the Leesville, LA area until Mr. Graham passed away.
Glenis then came to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Sulphur LA because of her declining health.
It was during this time that she was contacted by a lawyer in Missouri; her father William Jay Bussell had died in 1955 and left Glenis $1.00 in his will. William had remarried approximately two years after the death of Glenis' mother, Cora, and with the second wife Betty Hankins Bussell, had eleven children. At the death of Glenis' father, the children from his second marriage found out about their half-sister. They made contact with Glenis' daughter and tried to make amends for their father's unkind behavior.
During the time that Glenis lived with her daughter and son-in law, she became a Christian. Glenis passed away from complications due to a stroke on December 18, 1961 at the age of 56 years and was buried in Mimosa Pines Cemetery south of Sulphur, LA.
