MARY ANN FARST COE was the daughter and one of thirteen children born to Jacob and Rebecca Rummel Farst of near Bunker Hill, Worthington Twp, Richland County, Ohio. Her parents were pioneer residents of the area.

Mary Ann was united in marriage with John William "J.W." Coe on 14 September of 1890 on John's birthday. They did not have children of their own, they adopted Earl Ralph Beeman and raised him.

In 1938 Mary Ann and John celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary with a family party at their home with 25 guests attending.

A homemaker, Mary Ann was a member of the Evangelical Church in Butler.

Mary Ann, age 81, died at her Butler home after an extended illness. Her funeral services were held at her home and she was buried at St. John's Cemetery, Monroe Township, Richland County, Ohio.
