Enlisted, February 4, 1864, at Fabius; mustered in as private, Company B, February 5, 1864, to serve three years; appointed corporal, no date stated; wounded in action at Stony Creek, Va., December 1, 1864; died, December 6, 1864, of wounds, in Second Division C. C. Hospital, Army of Potomac.

There was a Grant Andrews from Fabius that died also served with Company H 10th Cavalry as Private. Died at home in Fabius 1865 from injuries he served in the War.. This is possibly where they got Grant on this stone. Mismarked.

Grant Orlando, William T., George H., and Omar all served with the 10th Cavalry of New York.
