Margaret G. Bailey, 83, of Niantic died at midnight Friday (Oct. 22, 1999) in Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur.
Funeral services will be 11:20 a.m. Monday in Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Bailey was born in Decatur on June 14, 1916, the daughter of James Arnold and Gladys Evangeline Gilman Greer. She was formerly employed by the county clerk's office. She was an active member of Harristown Christian Church. She married Russel Wayne Bailey. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1964.
Surviving are her sons, Russel Kent Bailey of Wilson, N.C., and Greg Bailey of Harristown; daughters, Margaret Karen O'Neill of Sarasota, Fla., and Melissa Leonard of Kenner, La.; sister Emily Gatten of Franklin, Va.; 27 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Douglas Charles Bailey and James Dennis Bailey, and one brother, David Greer.
