Allen Dean Berry, 64, Piper City, formerly of Monticello, died 12:37 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 3, 1991) in Fairbury Hospital, Fairbury.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Piper City United Methodist Church with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Reilly-Rednius Funeral Home, Piper City. Burial will be in Brenton Cemetery, Piper City. Memorials: Piper City United Methodist Church or Southeast Livingston County Ambulance Service.
Mr. Berry was born Feb. 3, 1927 in Monticello, son of Dean Johnston and Isabel Beckhart Berry. He was raised in Monticello and attended Monticello schools, Blackburn College, Carlinville, and Champaign Business School. He had managed the Farmers Grain Company in Piper City since 1969. He was a member of the Piper City United Methodist Church and the church board. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Gibb Post of the American Legion in Piper City. He was a past member of Piper City Town Board, Piper City Fire Department, Piper City Rotary Club, Piper City Masonic Lodge, Piper City Library Board and Fairbury Hospital Board. He married Betty J. Weikle July 12, 1953 in Maroa.
Surviving are his wife; mother, Isabel Berry of Monticello; sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Kelly Berry and William and Susan Berry, all of Piper City; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert R. Read of Piper City; nine grandsons.
His father and one sister, Frances Jean Berry, preceded him in death.
