M. Karen Bailey O'Neill, 61 of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Philo, passed away 8:35 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 4, 2000) in the home of her daughter in Schaumburg.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Freese Funeral Home, Tolono, with the Rev. Ken Young officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery. Memorials: Hospice Foundation of Northeastern Illinois, 410 S. Hager Ave., Barrington, IL 60010.
Mrs. O'neill was born March 21, 1939, in Decatur, the daughter of Russel W. and Margaret Greer Bailey. She and her husband owned and operated Central Propane Services Inc. and Philo Hardware Store for many years. She was a clerk for University of Illinois, retiring in 1996. She married John D. O'Neill Sept. 6, 1958 in Decatur.
Surviving are her husband; daughters, Julie Smith of Schaumburg; Jaylee Engebretson of Bridgewater, N.J.; sons, Greg O'Neill of Canton, Mich.; John O'Neill of Little Silver, N.J.; brothers, Greg Bailey of Harristown; Russel Kent Bailey of Wilson, N.C.; sister, Melissa Leonard of Kenner, La.; eight grandchildren.
