In 1939 Harold, Louise and children moved from Kentucky to Kansas, on the way their car broke down. Harold was struck by a drunk driver as he worked on his vehicle, he was taken to a hospital where he died 2 days later. Louise sent the body back to Kentucky to be buried in the Hutchinson Family Cemetery and continued the move to Kansas.
