Hollis G. Hickman, 82, of 418 East 15th Street died Friday morning Sept 30, 1988 at Bothwell Regional Health Center. He was born Oct. 3, 1905 in Ridgeway, MO., son of William A. and Rosa Grant Hickman. On Sept 7, 1934 he married Clara Mae Slocum, who survives of the home.
Mr. Hickman was raised and educated in Ridgeway, moving to Sedalia in 1930. He worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1968. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and the Communication workers of America.
Other survivors include two sons, Stanley G. Hickman of Las Vegas, NV. Gary W. Hickman, Houston, TX, a sister Georgia Deshler, King City, MO, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Glenn L. King, Emil Schreiber, Jack Alpert, Emmett L. Vaught, Davey Jones and Woodie Sheperd.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Officiating at his funeral was Rev. Wayne Isgriggs and music by Mrs. Clyde Waters organist and Mrs. Jack Herndon, Soloist.
