Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Lou Abernathy, 60, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with A. J. Rollings officiating. Burial will be in the Athens City Cemetery.


Mrs. Abernathy died at 9 a.m. Sunday in Oak Ridge. A native of Limestone County, Mrs. Abernathy was a resident of Oak Ridge for the past 26 years.


Survivors include her husband, Alfred Abernathy; one son, Jerry Pressnell of Oak Ridge; three daughters, Mrs. Jack [Betty Ann] Barger, Mrs. Wayne [Susie] Dorr and Mrs. Buddy [Julia Fay] Overton, all of Oak Ridge; one sister, Mrs. R. Ross Gilham, Houston, Texas; one brother, Nelson Barnes of Madison, Ind.; and seven grandsons.
