Bill Berna

Mr. Bill Berna, 70 of Van Buren, AR passed away Friday, August 15, 2008 in his home. He was born December 20, 1937 in Mulberry, AR to Clifford and Mary (Payne) Berna.

He was of the protestant faith. He worked many years in the corrugated box industry before beginning a career in the funeral industry with Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren and retiring from Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville where he worked tirelessly in helping his son.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Annita Berna, one daughter; Janet Shepherd and husband Leo of Elkins, AR, one son; Scott Berna and wife Paula of Fayetteville, AR, one brother; Tommy Berna and wife Margaret of Mulberry, AR, four grandchildren; Aaron Capps, Amy Capps, Colby Berna, Calli Berna; and two great grandsons; Skyler and Haden Capps.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 17, 2008 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, August, 18, 2008 at Butterfield Assembly of God Church in Van Buren, AR with Reverend Ronnie Gilmore and Chaplain Jon Hamby officiating. Graveside committal services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Butterfield Assembly of God Church or to Peachtree Hospice.
