Hugh Hill Lansden was born in Overton County Tennessee the son of James King and Judeth McDonnold Lansden. When Hugh was about seven years of age his Mother Judeth died. Hugh's father James King Lansden being left with four small children soon married a young widow Jane Simpson Scanland.On September 16,1861 Hugh married Elizabeth Lee Ann McGhee in Livingston, Overton County, Tennessee. To this ubion six (6) children were born.Four of the six children lived to adulthood. Charles A. died at age seventeen and John at age two.
