Bertha was born the daughter of Moran Littlecook and Inez Clark Littlecook on Nov. 1, 1954, in Pawnee. She grew up in Ponca City, and attended Ponca City schools as well as Concho Indian School in El Reno. She moved from Ponca City to Oklahoma City five years ago.
In the early 1970s Bertha married Lonnie Abrahamson and to this union, two children were born. She enjoyed Indian music, fry bread and beans, but walking was what she especially loved. Bertha loved all children and animals. She always had a smile ready for everyone and will be greatly missed by all family and friends who knew her.
She is survived by her companion of four years, Joe Hicks; one daughter, Rena Abrahamson; two sisters, Belle Littlecook Camp and Oney Roy; three brothers, Kenneth Kent-Shearer, Clarkson Littlecook and Dallas Kent; three grandchildren; six nieces, Joy Dawn Roy, Jesse Kent, Chayna Kent, Inez Kent, Judy Littlecook and Rose LeClair; nine nephews, Dallas Kent Jr., Michael Roy, Henry Pohocsucut, Lonnie Others, Joe Kent, Donnie Chalepah, Knox-sah Camp, Ross Littlecook and Wahskon Camp.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Joanne Abrahamson; four brothers, Newton Clark, David Reese, Jess Littlecook, Steve Littlecook; and nephew, Emery J. Roy.
Casket bearers for the service will be nephews, Henry Pohocsucut, Lonnie Others, Joe Kent, Donnie Chalepah, Knox-sah Camp and Wahskon Camp.
Honorary bearers will be Clarkson Littlecook, Kenneth Kent-Shearer, Dallas Kent, Craig Camp, Jasper Clark, Kelly Clark, Darrell Clark and Ross Littlecook.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Ponca Indian Baptist Church with the Rev, Paul Graham and Doug Eagle officiating. A traditional noon meal will precede the funeral.
Burial will follow at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel
