Viola "Vi" M. (Beebe) Young, 89, of Millville passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at Bishop McCarthy Nursing Home in Vineland after a lengthy illness.
Born in Millville, she was a lifelong resident and a graduate of Millville High School, Class of 1938. Viola had worked for the Millville Board of Education as a cafeteria employee at the senior high and Holly Heights School before retiring in 1975. She was a former member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Millville. She was a member of both Millville and Cumberland County Republican clubs. She enjoyed spending her summers in Sea Isle with her late husband, Grover Young, who passed away in 1961.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Francois of Millville; a sister-in-law, Molly Beebe of Millville; two nephews, Robert Francois, and Dr. James Beebe and wife Barbara (Smith) Beebe, all of Millville; a great-niece, Tiffani Beebe; and a great-nephew, Zachary Beebe.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Albert Beebe in 2006, and Edward Beebe.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Millville.
