On March 22, 1898, her husband died leaving her a widow with four small children.
October 13, 1903 at Russell, Iowa, she was married to Mr. Eli B. Hudson.
In the spring of 1910 with Mr. Hudson she came to Wyoming and located on a homestead about 12 miles northeast of Cheyenne.
When here she was the inspiration of the community. When anyone was discouraged, she would encourage.
Aunt Maggie, as she was known was loved by everyone.
She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a kind friend and neighbor. She fell peacefully asleep Monday morning February 21, 1921.
She leaves to mourn her loss, a husband, four children—Mrs. Daisy Hudson of Cheyenne. Wyo., Mrs. Josephine Everest of Newberg,
Oregon, Mr. Baker M. Allender of Pueblo, Colo., Mr. Frank W. Allender of Clinton, Iowa, a nephew, William who has always made his home with her, a sister, Mrs. Anna Teeter of Fairfield, Iowa, and five grand-children, besides numerous other relations and friends. Services were held from Early Bricker Bros., Rev. Andrew officiating. She was laid to rest February 24th in Lakeview cemetery. Pallbearers were all old neighbors of deceased, Mr. Ernest Goodman, Chas. Child, A. E. Klopfer, Paul Long, B. D. VanZandt and Glen Marpel.
