Funeral services for Fred Taylor, 74, Blackwater, who died at 10:50 p.m. March 21 at the
Marymount Hospital following a stroke, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Blackwater
Baptist Church by Rev. Lowell Gilbert.
Burial was in the Taylor Cemetery, Blackwater, with the House Funeral Home in charge.
Born Dec. 9, 1897, in Laurel County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Nannie Walden Taylor.
He was twice married, first to Fannie Brummett and secondly to Sally Botkins, both deceased.
He leaves five daughters: Mrs. Julia Beets and mrs. Leatrice Williams, both of Route 4, London; Mrs. Beatrice Asher and Mrs.Helen Smith, both of Indianapolis, IN; and Mrs. Marcella Jones, Madison Heights, Michigan. Mr. Taylor also leaves four sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Myrtle Gilbert, Laurel Heights, London; Mrs. Ester Cobb, Cranes Nest; Mrs. Sarah May, Lexington; Mrs. Julia Wash, Lanchester, S.C.; Otis Taylor, Dearborn, MI; and Henry Taylor, Santa Fee, Mexico; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
