Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery in Lone Oak with Rickey Stracener, David Rabun, James Baxter, Rob Groves, Mike Dickens and Dennis Denney serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Billy Robert "B.R." (Bob) Elliott of Sulphur Springs passed away Friday, June 18, 2010, at the age of 85.
Mr. Elliott was born on Nov. 25, 1924, in Lone Oak to Richard Elliott and Ida S. Pope Elliott. They preceded him in death.
After serving a short time in the U.S. Army, Mr. Elliott married Florence Hurst Elliott. She preceded him in death in October of 2006. Together they owned and worked the family dairy farm.
Mr. Elliott worked on the dairy farm for more than 40 years. He retired in 2008.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Randy Stracener of Brashear; two grandchildren, William Stracener and his wife, Lauren, of Brashear and Leeman Roy Stracener, and his wife Lacie, also of Brashear; one great-grandchild, Rylie Ann Stracener; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Elliott was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Benton Elliott and Richard "Cotton" Elliott; and three sisters, Rachel Elliott, Grace White and Maenon Scott.
Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
