Master Sergeant Richard Edward Peters, 85 of Farmington, AR passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 in Springdale, AR. He was born September 5, 1922 in Milo, AR to Thomas Edward Peters and Cora Maude (Horn) Peters.
He was retired Master Sergeant and recipient of The Purple Heart in the U.S. Air Force having served in World War II, The Korean Conflict, and Viet Nam during his twenty-eight year military career. After his retirement from the military he became a farmer and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Farmington Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by two sisters; Marguerite Harrison and Adell Finley.
He is survived by his wife; Helen Peters, two sons; Galen Peters and wife Tracy of Farmington, AR, Gary Peters of Fayetteville, AR, one brother; Chesley Peters of Crossett, AR, five grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home on Monday, June 2, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with the family present to greet friends form 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2008 in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Mr. Keith McNeely officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, AR.
