Mr. Howell, a native of Wilkinson County, had lived in Bleckley County for 66 years. He was a retired farmer and attended Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen H. Abney of Danville; two sons, W.H.Howell Jr. of Cochran and Lanier Howell of Danville; a brother, J.Dennard Howell of Irwinton; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Dominy of Toomsboro and Mrs. Lallie Helton of Irwinton; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
The body will be at the residences of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Abney, Route 1, Danville,and Mr. and Mrs. Lanier Howell, Route 1, Danville.
