Everald Kate "Kitty" Pearce Zeno, 93, of Greenfield, died on Friday, March 4, 2005, of complications from pneumonia.
Mrs. Zeno was born on May 18,1911, in Toronto, Canada, to Howard and Harriet Pearce. She grew up in Springfield, VT and graduated from Springfield High School.
She graduated from Metropolitan School of Nursing in New York City. In recent years, she resided in Greenfield, MA.
She was married to Bernard Zeno of Bellows Falls, VT. and they had five children. For over 35 years, she served as a nurse at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, including many years as supervising nurse for the operating room.
Mrs. Zeno loved her gardening and a good cup of tea. Her many interests included knitting and other needlecrafts.
She is survived by four daughters, Dorothy and her husband, George Cross of Winooski, VT., Helen and her husband Michael Sokolosky of Turners Falls, MA., Judith and her husband, Frank Patterson of Avon, CT., and Shirley Zeno of Des Moines, IA.; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter and two beloved nieces.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Dolly Graham and Marjorie Steele, a granddaughter Lisa Huff and beloved son, Paul Zeno.
She will be greatly missed by her large, loving family and numerous friends.
She was my beloved Gram. She raised five children on her own and was a strong, independent woman.
