A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Richard James Adams, 76, passed away Friday August 22, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Adams was born April 2, 1932 to the late James & Gertha Reece Adams. He was retired from Sara Lee, and was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Adams loved to talk with everybody and was a good friend to everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 50 years Dorothy Juanita Shore Adams, which are now reunited in Heaven; two brothers Paul Adams, Gray Adams; a uncle who was just like a brother to him, Decatur Adams. Surviving is a daughter Linda (Donnie) Wood, Jonesville; a grandson Ritchie (Marie) Wood, Jonesville; two great-grandchildren Adrian Wood, Nick Wood; two sister-in-laws Ruth Adams, Marie Adams. His funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Fall Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Don Hudson and Dr. Leon Mikles. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville.
