Here our six children were born and grew to man and womanhood. They all went to Witen School which was abandoned last year when it became part of the Black Hawk consolidated school. They all graduated from Prairie High School during the time R.S. Babington was principal and Walter Doll was reacher. Three of the boys, Howard, Carl and Wallace took a short course in agriculture at the U. of Wisconsin. ...we as a family attended and were active in the Evangelical church of Honey Creek. Charles died in 1945 at the age of 76 years. He took great interest in community affairs, served as school clerk 21 years, as member of Witen Cooperative Creamery for 30 years, as a member of Sauk County Board 13 years.
