William E. Chegwidden, 95, a former resident of Pine St., Hancock, Michigan, passed away at Houghton County Medical Care Facility where he had been a resident patient for 6 years.

He was born on November 16, 1908, in Hancock, MI a son of the late Norman and Lillie (Chapman) Chegwidden. He was a graduate of the Hancock High School with the Class of 1927.

In 1934, he was united in marriage to the former Edna Saatio and she preceded him in death on February 18, 1991. After working several jobs locally, they moved to the Detroit area in 1942, where he worked for the Excello Corp. for 29 years. They returned to Hancock in 1971 where he has resided since.

Mr. Chegwidden was a member of the former Hancock Elk's Lodge and a member of the Hancock Booster Club.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, and 1 son, Robert Chegwidden.

Surviving were:
2 Grandsons: Mark (Donna) Chegwidden of Hurontown
Michael Chegwidden of Kincheloe, MI
2 Great Grandsons:
Christopher of Hurontown
Derek of Atlantic Mine
