He attended the Big Timber public school, Sweet Grass county high school and the Polytechnic at Billings. As a young man of 21 he operated a ranch on Dry Fork north of Grey Cliff, and in 1923 he and Pete Sektnan purchased a garage in Big Timber, now occupied by the Bounce Chevrolet company.
In 1927 he traded the garage to Severin Oie for the latter's hardware store, which he had owned ever since.
During the last war he was employed in Portland, Ore., for about a year and a half and then was in Missoula for several months before returning to Big Timber. His hardware store was operated during that time by E. J. Husebye, now of Spearfish, S.D.
He is survived by his widow, Hulda Bailey, and several cousins. Interment was in Mountain View.
