MURRY B. McCLENNEN, 94, of Comanche, Okla., passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 23, 2008, at her home west of Comanche.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Comanche, with the Rev. Paul McDowell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
Murry was born Aug. 20, 1914, at Oak College, west of Comanche, to Robert W. and Bertha A. Duncan Bounds.
On March 7, 1935, she married Earl Elton McClennen in Comanche, in a double wedding ceremony along with her twin sister, Murrel.
Earl preceded her in death in 1995.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. She was also very active in the Oak College Home Extension Club, where she had recently received her 75 year certificate.
Murry loved to work in her garden, quilting, sewing, traveling with her family, and getting to spend time with her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her four sons, Ronald McClennen and wife Rosalie of Comanche, Jack McClennen and wife Joyce of Duncan, Mack McClennen and wife Kathy of Duncan, and Dan McClennen of El Paso, Texas; a daughter, Julie Bacon and husband James of Comanche; a sister, Murrel Brooks of Thorndale, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Flora Boyd, and a brother, Elmo Bounds.
