Charles R. Hose, 75, of Pike Street, Parkersburg, died March 6, 1997, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late Henry and Vena Morehead Hose. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the Wood County Board of Education and was a former employee of johns Mansville. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and attended Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Frances C. Tavenner Hose; one son Rick Hose of Parkersburg; two daughters, Mary Ellen Deberry and Carolyn Whited, both of Parkersburg; four brothers, Paul Morehead of Mineral Wells, Calvin Morehead of Dallison, Wayne Morehead of New York and Bill Hose of England; two sisters, Nancy Barnes of Dallison and Betty Johnson of Parkersburg; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Green and Nova Hose.
Services 2 p.m. Saturday, Kimes Funeral Home, the Rev. Keith Leap officiating. Burial Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 15.
