Graveside Services will be conducted at Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, LA for Betty June Melton on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor ted Hardin of Oakcrest Christian Church. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Melton passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, December 14 at the age of 73, after a long illness. She was born in Fort Worth, TX on December 15, 1932.
Betty was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved everyone whom she met and always gave freely from her heart. Her family and friends were her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Melton and her granddaughter Sabrina.
She is survived by two sons, Roger Parish and wife Leah, Marvin Melton and wife Cindy; two daughters, Donna Reed and husband Johnny, Becky Leggett and husband Jim; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and countless friends.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Leggett, Michael and Andy Sobolak, Paul Loggins, John Nightingale, and Terry Frazier. Honorary pallbearers include Austin Parish and Jim Lee.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Highland Club, 1711 Tulane Ave. Shreveport, LA 71113.
