Arthur L. Bourlard Jr., 71, of Kincaid died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 21, 1927, in Tovey, the son of Arthur L. and Dorothy Wente Bourlard Sr. He married Norma J. Ariana in 1953 in Kincaid.
Mr. Bourlard was employed as a coal miner with Peabody Coal Company Mine 10, retiring in 1989. He was a U.S. Army veteran, member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Kincaid, American Legion Post 905 in Kincaid, Knights of Columbus Council 4446 in Kincaid and United Mine Workers of America Local 9819. Survivors: wife, Norma J.; a daughter, Terri Selzer of Springfield; two sons, Michael Bourlard of Springfield and David Bourlard of Effingham; five grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Aymer of Tovey, Louise (husband, Clarence) Boesdorfer of Springfield, and Wilda (husband, Hal) Hilton of Portsmouth, Va.; and two half brothers, Eugene and Kleber Bourlard.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, St. Rita Catholic Church, Kincaid, the Rev.
Charles Dahlby officiating. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville.
Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid is in charge of arrangements.
