Delores Jean Berry, 72, of Vandalia, died at 9:25 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at her home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with Pastor David Rogers officiating. Burial will be in McInturff Cemetery, Hagarstown. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: Cardinal Glennon Childrens Medical Center or Shriners Hospitals for Children, both in St. Louis.
Mrs. Berry was born on Feb. 27, 1936, in Mulberry Grove, the daughter of Ralph E. and Edna C. Meyers Jett. She married Lawrence Larry Berry on July 26, 1976; he died on March 1, 1999.
She was a retired waitress at Jays Restaurant in Vandalia.
She is survived by sons, Marc Berry and his fiance Tiffany Dunham of Vandalia, and Carl Berry of Coffeen; daughters, Elizabeth Libby Orrell of Patoka, and Sandy and her husband Marc Wilson of Gifford; sisters, Sally Bone of Champaign, and Sue and her husband Gene Hicks of Vandalia; grandchildren, Sarah Orrell, Julie Lester and Joe Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Kala, Jacob, Jerod, Casey, Matthew and Stevie Ray.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son-in-law, Rusty Orrell.
