A daughter of Charles and Louisa Crofoot, and sister of Michael E. Crofoot.
She married James Monroe Williams in Pontiac, MI in 1853, and the next year followed the rush for gold to California where they eventually settled in Santa Rosa after a few years mining in the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
It was in their Santa Rosa home at 10th St and Mendocino that she raised the family of two girls and four boys to adulthood.
