FORMER LOCAL MAN DIES AT OCONOMOWOC
Information has been received at Chilton of the death of George Arns, aged 40, a former resident of that city, who was born in Sheboygan on October 14, 1876.
The funeral was held on Wednesday of last week from the St. Mary church at Hilbert, at 9:30 o'clock in the morning, Rev. M. Oswald, assisted by Rev. Garthus of Brillion and Rev. Ruppold, of St. John, conducted the obsequies. Burial was made in the St. Mary's cemetery.
When Mr. Arns was still in his childhood days, the family moved to Brillion where he was raised. He attended the graded schools until he was sixteen years old and then secured employment in the Peter Werner store. Later he held a position of clerk in the Berger-Gallogher store at Chilton and then returned to his home where he worked for the Bourcher Company.
Engaging in business under the firm name, Arns & Gensler, he was an active businessman for a time but later he disposed of his interests and became manager of the Vollmer & Dohr store at Hilbert, filling the position for three years when the concern dissolved. He was married on October 12, 1912 to Miss Margaret Sommers, of Forest Junction, who together with his parents and five sisters, survives him.
In January of this year, Mr. Arns was removed to the sanitarium at Oconomowoc for treatment and for a time it seemed as though a recovery would be effected until he was stricken with paralysis.
