"THE LENORA LEADER", Lenora, Oklahoma, Friday, June 22, 1906,p6: West Kizer Items.....Mrs. Bertha Schmalljohn; formerly Miss Bertha Theirman, passed to her eternal reward last Saturday about two o'clock. She had been ill for some time, and when the summons came she was ready to go home. Mrs. Schmalljohn was born May 19th, 1870. She was converted and joined the Baptist church when she was sixteen years old, and has lived a consistent christian all her life. She was married to Carl Schmalljohn, January, 2nd, 1902, and died June 18th, 1906.
The deceased leaves a husband, an infant daughter, a mother, three sisters and four brothers to mourn her loss, besides several distant relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral services were held at the house on the 18th, and were conducted by Miss Forence Smith, after which a large procession followed the remains to the Bloomfield cemetery where all, that was mortal of Mrs. Schmalljohn was laid to rest, there to await the resurrection morn.
"Our friend has gone to a better land;
'Tis she should mourn for us,
As she has gone to a fairer world,
While we remain below."

Card of Thanks: We wish to thank our kind friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us in the sickness and death of our loved daughter and sister so lately passed away. Mrs. M. A. Thierman, F. H. Thierman, Mrs. B. H. Barker, Mrs. Lindsay
