Mrs. Maria Mills, 83, of Crossett, died Monday, August 18, 2008 at her residence in Crossett. Mrs. Mills was a native of Los Mochies, Sinaloa, Mexico and a resident of Crossett for the past 30 years. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James T. Mills; her parents, Ramon Cruz De Camu and Teresa Rodriguez De Cruz; five sisters, two brothers and one granddaughter, Kimberly Laing Parker.
She is survived by four sons, Jack King and wife, Diane, of Minden, LA; Raymond, Ralph and David King all of Crossett; two daughters, Lou Braswell and husband, Stormy, and Teresa Laing all of Crossett; two step-sons, Ray Mills and wife, Vera, of Crossett, and Clayton Mills and wife, Martha, of Checotah, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Marie Smith of Crossett; four brothers, Roberto Cruz of California; Rafael, Raul & Angel Cruz all of Mexico; two sisters, Josephina Ortego of Mexico and Dora Ortego of California; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2008 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Cullum and Rev. Justin Uselton officiating. Burial will be in the Egypt Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chris Watkins, Jerry Laing Jr., Heath King, Josh King, Ralph King Jr., and Donny Crow. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Laing Sr., and Stormy Braswell.
