The oldest person in this city, and perhaps in the county, yesterday peacefully closed her eyes upon all earthly scenes, and through the eyes of faith and a clear spiritual vision, beheld the beauties and grandeur of her future home. Mrs. Eunice E. Baker was born in New Hampshire in 1794 and was consequently 94 years of age. She died, as above stated, yesterday, at the residence of her son-in-law, Joseph Knowlton, 202 North Third street. She came to this city six years ago, and notwithstanding her advanced age, she has had excellent health and has been enabled, until the 9th of February, to look after and discharge her household duties. The funeral services will be held today at the residence of Mr. Knowlton, at 1 o'clock this afternoon.
