Funeral services for Pvt. Michael E. Baum, of 1705 W. Leafland Ave. will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Pvt. Baum was injured in Vietnam while returning from a combat mission when the personnel carrier he was riding in struck a land mine. He was taken to a U.S. Army Hospital July 17, and died the next day.
He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bryant J. Baum, sister Mrs. Ronald Hollingstead of Decatur, brothers Russell and James, both at home, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Weathers and Mrs. Mary Baum, Decatur; great-grandmother Mrs. J.C Barley, Nashville, Tenn.
