Marine Lance Cpl. Danny Bouchez, 20 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bouchez, 1430 W. Cushing Ave., was killed in action Sunday in Vietnam, his parents and wife were notified Wednesday.
Marine Capt. John C. Hill of Peoria said Cpl. Bouchez was killed by 'a hostile explosive device' while on an operation in Quang Nam province in northern South Vietnam.
Cpl. Bouchez, a 1966 graduate of MacArthur High School, was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 7th Regiment, 1st Marine Division. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in January, 1967, and would have completed three months service in Vietnam Friday.
Besides his parents, Capl. Bouchez is survived by his wife, Rebecca, and son, Danny, 2, who make their home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Freeman at 138 Nevada Dr. and two sisters, Kandi Bouchez and Debra Bouchez, both of Decatur.
