Allbritton served in the Brooks County Militia in the last year of the Civil War and was captured in the battles about Atlanta and confined in FederalPrison On Hilton Head Island where he died Jan. 1865. He married Jane Allen, a
dgt. of Isaac and Easter Allen, who were among the settlers of Thomas County.

Jane's mother was Esther Harrell.

Private Albritton died of Pneumonia in the Provost Guard Hospital, Hilton Head, SC.
